Wordstock is here

Wordstock 2010 is underway! A series of special events (including Monday night’s escapade with Lee Blessing performing his own one-hander, Chesapeake) are currently ramping us up to the big weekend, where over 200 authors from the U.S. and far beyond will read from their work, hobnob with their readers, lead writing workshops and sit on panels where they’ll discuss the art and business of writing.

An aspect of the Festival I love is the way it interacts every years with the creative giants at Wieden + Kennedy to create a fresh approach to expressing Wordstock through media of all sorts. The fab image above is a product of W+K’s fevered imagination. You can see the whole series, and even download them as wallpaper, from Sara Gundell’s excellent website, Novel Novice — a good site for authors to know in and and out of Festival season.
